Call for participants: International training course “Inspired by Inclusion”

Training for trainers on participative methods and on the management of learning activities for youth

WHEN? October 21^st to October 26^th 2021 (6 days)

WHERE? Logroño, La Rioja, Spain.

WHO? 20 participants from Austria, Germany and Spain. We are looking for young people, educators and former volunteers who want to learn about how to be trainers or improve their training skills on how to arrange, prepare and carry out learning activities.

WHAT? The course is an interactive activity for those who want to become skilled trainers. Attendees will explore the manual for the involvement and self-training of trainers with a participatory focus created by the project “Inspired by Inclusion”. They will gain experience and knowledge on techniques and methods for youth and on trainings design and implementation. Participants on the training course will be able to:

• EXPLORE the importance of having trainers from diverse social and cultural groups and how this could benefit themselves and the youth sector.
• UNDERSTAND how to be a good trainer and recognise the skills needed for it.
• LEARN how to prepare, plan, and organize the logistics of a training activity.
• GET TO KNOW how to work with different types of learners.
• PRACTICE how to create participatory training methods.
• DEVELOP training programmes and activities for youth.
• SUPPORT the creation of a manual for trainers from diverse social and cultural groups.

HOW MUCH? There is no fee. Training, accommodation (shared rooms), food and travel will be organized for the participants and are free of charge.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE? Grenzenlos and WeltWegWeiser are offering each 4 vacancies for participants. Participants should have strong interest on being trainers or on improving their training skills on participatory and non-formal activities. Previous experience as trainers is welcome but not a requisite. Knowledge in English would be appreciated as the activity will be done on this language.

ABOUT the project ”Inspired by Inclusion“

This training course is one of the activities of the project “Inspired by Inclusion”. It aims to open international and training activities to youth by giving priority to people from disadvantaged backgrounds (from isolated geographical areas, with learning difficulties, facing social obstacles, with disabilities, etc.). The idea is to explore how non-formal global learning is used in international mobility and how can it be more participatory for these groups. The project also intends to recognise the role of these groups as social and training reference on the education field. According to this, the project aims to:

• Break the educational exclusivity of international mobility in the context of preparation, accompaniment, and follow-up of non-formal education.
• Promote the participation of youth with educational disadvantages or disabilities in the development of non-formal education.
• Show young people with educational disadvantages or disabilities opportunities for engagement and enable them to function as multipliers and trainers themselves.
• Implement new approaches of European non-formal educational work in the field of international mobility.
